Flores Horizontais

flores horizontais
flores da vida
flores brancas de papel
da vida rubra de bordel
flores da vida
afogadas nas janelas do luar
carbonizadas de remédios
tapas pontapés
escuras flores puras
putas suicidas sentimentais
flores horizontais
que rezais
com Deus me deito
com Deus me levanto

Sublime music: poem by Oswald de Andrade arranged by José Miguel Wisnik and sung by Elza Soares. A tribute to the Zona do Mangue prostitutes.

Pecado Original, song from the Dama de Lotação soundtrack, performed here by a Film School buddy not by Caetano Veloso of NY Times fame, who wrote the lyrics. By the way, I can't get enough of listening to Complainte de la Seine.
